{"id":12141,"date":"2021-03-02T17:46:48","date_gmt":"2021-03-02T17:46:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thescripturecache.com\/?p=12141"},"modified":"2022-01-11T23:27:06","modified_gmt":"2022-01-11T23:27:06","slug":"return-occurrences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thescripturecache.com\/?p=12141","title":{"rendered":"\u201cReturn\u201d Occurrences\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Views: 0<\/p><div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;\">[<strong>Note: <\/strong>This MS is available in larger font on our <strong>Brief Articles<\/strong>\u00a02 page.]<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The New Testament not only frequently and plainly tells us that Jesus Christ will return, but it also tells us what things will occur when He comes.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Great sounds and noises will be heard, including \u201ca shout,\u201d \u201cthe voice of the archangel,\u201d and \u201cthe trump of God\u201d (1 The. 4:16).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He will obliterate all material things, including space (\u201cthe heavens\u201d), the base elements, and the earth and all that men have produced (2 Pet. 3:4, 10). His coming will mark \u201cthe end\u201d of time (1 Cor. 15: 23\u201324).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He will raise all the dead \u201cat his coming\u201d (1 Cor. 15:22\u201323; 1 The. 4:16), including good and evil in the same \u201chour\u201d (John 5:28\u201329).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He will judge \u201call the nations\u201d (Mat. 25:31\u201346; cf. 2 The. 1:7\u201310), a Judgment Day no one will escape (2 Cor. 5:10).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">When He comes, He will deliver His presently existing church\/kingdom (Mat. 16:18\u201319; Mark 9:1; Col. 1:13; Rev. 1:9) to God the Father (1 Cor. 15:24). He has gone \u201cto prepare a place\u201d for His people (i.e., Heaven), to which He will take us to be with Him forever (John 14:2\u20133).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">When He comes, no one will miss it (Rev. 1:7).<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">With these Biblical facts before us, we note that when Jesus returns:<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Everyone will be aware of this momentous event, not merely a few (the righteous), as the \u201cRapture\u201d theorists aver. (The spectacular sounds and sights will be unavoidable.) \u201cEvery eye shall see him\u201d when He comes (Rev. 1:7).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He will return only once, contrary to the \u201cRapture\u201d doctrine that requires at least two \u201cSecond Comings.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">He will raise all of the dead in only one universal resurrection, rather than allegedly raising the righteous dead at a \u201cfirst\u201d Second Coming, followed by that of the unrighteous dead at a \u201csecond\u201d Second Coming a millennium or more later, per the \u201cRapture\u201d doctrine.
