A few years ago, Hayes Carl wrote \u201cBye Bye Baby,\u201d a country music song lamenting a broken romance. This title would serve well for a song about the Pharaoh who ordered the death of all Hebrew baby boys (Exo. 1:16, 22; Acts 7:19). It would also fit Herod\u2019s decree that resulted in the murder of all the baby boys in and around Bethlehem (Mat. 2:16). Even irreligious folk rightly recoil at such inhumane blood lust.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bye Bye Baby<\/em> would also fit a song describing what the US Supreme Court said to pre-birth infants in 1973. The basic differences between the ancient and modern life-takers are:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. They slew the defenseless babies after<\/strong> they were born\u2014we do not wait that long (in most cases)<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. The number the former killed was minuscule compared to what modern merciless sophisticates have done\u2014and continue to do.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    By the anniversary day of Roe v. Wade (Jan. 22, 2022), the number of recorded abortions in the US will reach almost 64,000,000 (http:\/\/www.numberofabortions.com\/<\/a>). Let us drop the epithets that mask the real horror men have visited on their own kind by this ruling. Abortion is not merely another \u201cmedical procedure,\u201d the exercise of a mother\u2019s \u201crights,\u201d another means of \u201cbirth control,\u201d \u201cremoval of a fetus,\u201d a \u201csocial issue,\u201d or another way to \u201cplan parenthood.\u201d Abortion is legalized murder<\/strong> of a living, separate human person<\/strong>\u2014not merely the removal of another \u201cappendix\u201d or \u201cpiece of tissue\u201d from its mother\u2019s body.<\/span><\/p>\n

    How one can one rationalize treating a fellow human being far more cruelly than he would tolerate for the treatment of an animal is difficult to grasp. If the audio and video recordings involving Planned Parenthood officials (our nation\u2019s largest abortion perpetrator) could not stir the national conscience\u2014including that of Congress\u2014one wonders what trace of conscience might still remain. Planned Parenthood officials openly, even jovially over lunch, discussed the price they charged \u201cresearchers\u201d for a leg, an arm, a heart, a brain\u2014even an entire head\u2014of a mature infant. One video I watched showed a perfectly formed live <\/strong>baby\u2014moving and struggling to survive, freshly extracted from its mother\u2019s womb, placed in a stainless steel bowl. Heartless gloved hands moved the tiny head about with steel instruments\u2014until it moved no more. Bye Bye Baby, <\/em>indeed\u2014repeated millions of times.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The apostle Paul wrote, \u201cThe wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men\u2026\u201d (Rom. 1:18). In the long list of such evils in the context, he listed \u201c\u2026without natural affection, unmerciful\u201d (v. 31b), an apt description of those who practice and promote the killing of babies, whether in or out of the womb.<\/span><\/p>\n
