\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>To most people, \u201cdenominationalism\u201d and \u201cChristianity\u201d are the same thing. Do modern men have the courage and objectivity to accept and face what the Bible teaches about the New Testament church and denominationalism? The New Testament church is essentially undenominational or nondenominational. Some groups claim to be \u201cnondenominational\u201d while they really mean \u201cinterdenominational,\u201d that is, accepting people from all denominations, \u201cas is.\u201d When I affirm that the New Testament church is nondenominational, I mean that it does not participate in denominationalism, is opposed to the denominational concept of the church, and is itself essentially, not a denomination. Notice some of the contrasts:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 New Testament Church\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Denominationalism<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Christ is the founder (Mat. 16:18) \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Men are founders.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Christ is head (Eph. 1:22\u201323) \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Men are heads<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Follows only the Bible (2 Tim. 3:16\u201317) \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Follows human creeds\/traditions<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. God\u2019s saved people (Acts 2:47; Eph 5:23) \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Not necessary to salvation.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. God-honoring designations (Rom. 16:16) \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Names of men or doctrines<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Preaches only one Gospel (Gal. 1:8\u20139) \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Preaches many \u201cgospels\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Is one body (John 17:20\u201321; Eph. 4:4) \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Is many bodies<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Can and must be united (1 Cor. 1:10\u201313) \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Unity unnecessary, impossible<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Sound doctrine essential (1 Tim. 4:16) \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Sincerity outweighs doctrine<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Saved by faith and works (Jam. 2:18\u201326) \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Saved by faith alone<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    When one hears the Gospel, declares his faith in Christ, turns from sin in repentance and submits to baptism for remission of sins, the Lord saves him and adds him to His church, not to a denomination (Acts 2:37\u201347). Denominations result when either more or less than the Gospel is preached, believed, and practiced. The Gospel only produces only the Kingdom of Christ (Luke 8:11).<\/span><\/p>\n
