While none should rejoice in the property loss our fellow-citizens sustained, the melted Buddha provokes reflection on the great contrasts between Christianity and the pagan \u201cworld religions\u201d (e.g., Hinduism, Islam, Baha\u2019ism) that have gained many adherents in our nation. Note some of the contrasts between God and counterfeit deities:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Buddhists<\/strong> revere statues of a man and some ethical principles veiled in ancient mythology.<\/span><\/p>\n Hindus<\/strong> have their choice of 330 million gods in their pagan pantheon, most of which are tied to natural forces.<\/span><\/p>\n Muslims <\/strong>and Bahai\u2019s<\/strong> profess monotheism but deny God\u2019s triune nature.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Eastern<\/strong> religions are strong on mystery, but short on certain history.<\/span><\/p>\n Islam\u2019s<\/strong> history stretches back only about fifteen centuries, although Mohammed stole Old Testament history to gain credibility for his militaristic agenda.<\/span><\/p>\n Baha\u2019ism<\/strong> began in 1863. Like Islam, it purloins its pre-founding \u201chistory\u201d from the Bible. Bible-related historical claims of Islam and Baha\u2019ism are contradictory both to sacred and profane history.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Oriental<\/strong> religions hold \u201ctruth\u201d to be whatever one says it is with no ultimate standard by which to measure any claim or principle.
